About Ed Hogben

Ed Hogben is a London-based trumpeter exploring uncharted territory with his instrument. Using a MIDI harmoniser, he's able to play chords in real time - essentially fulfilling the role of piano or guitar in a jazz trio.

Playing with renowned artists such as Sheila-E, Morris Pleasure, and Kwame Yeboah, Hogben has adapted the harmoniser as a live improvising tool in ways that haven't been done before.

His approach has resonated widely online, with performances capturing attention across the jazz community and beyond.
